Easter Egg Time Again

Don't you just LOVE dyeing eggs during the Easter season? I think it is so much fun and I have passed that gene right down to both of our children. They look forward to this every year and they like to see what kind of creations they can come up with!

I don't know if he would admit it or not . . . but my husband really enjoys the Easter egg thing as well! He is actually the one that taught the children how to create "different" types of eggs! I will confess: In the beginning of our Easter egg coloring days I had a difficult time "allowing" my children to learn how to make the "different" styles of egg coloring. Growing up in my home we always just made plain eggs - just color, no designs. Well, Jerry grew up writing their names on an egg, drawing designs, using tape, etc. So, I guess you could say we do a little of both in our home. We design our egg any way we want to - some are plain and some are creatively decorated!

This is Carleigh's little hand in the dye! She does not like to use the egg holders - so, I just let her have her fun! You should see her hands when she is all done. Oh well, it comes off eventually!

And, of course, our family would not be complete without little Josie watching! Oh, I just love my baby!

Finally, what you all have been waiting for . . . our basket full of beautiful Easter eggs. Each creation is unique and special in its own way! We always have a fun family time coloring eggs together. The excitement starts when I start taping down the newspaper on the kitchen counter and continues until the last 2 eggs are decorated.

I hope you all have a Happy Easter!

A Couple Other "Loves" of My Life

By now you all have met, at least, 4 "loves" of my life - my husband, my two children and my kitten. And tonight I am introducing 2 more "loves" of my life! Drum roll . . . IBC Cream Soda

and Nestle's break & bake chocolate chip cookies!

Normally, I do not endulge on these two things together! I usually have a big glass of ice cold milk with my chocolate chip cookies - they just seem to taste better! But tonight I started off with the cream soda and then I realized I needed to pack a dessert in the kid's lunches for tomorrow. They also love chocolate chip cookies so I thought it would make a great treat for them!

I hope you all had a good Monday and I hope you have a great week! I had a really loooong day at work today! I was extremely tired and just had no motivation or energy! I am hoping tomorrow will be better!

So, what do you treat yourself to after a long day? Whatever it is - go ahead and ENJOY it!!

Bahamas Here We Come

In just 12 days my Momma & I will be stepping aboard this baby! Oh, I cannot wait! This will be my first trip without my husband and my children. I am not sure what I am going to do with myself - hopefully,
RELAX and HAVE SOME FUN!

The cruise idea came about over the weekend as my Momma & I were trying to plan our Spring Break vacation. We originally planned on going to Sea World, Disney World and some other theme parks with the children. However, my children did not really care to do that! How weird is that?? "Hey kids do you want to go to Disney World?" Their reply, "Not really, we would rather go play with our cousin M" With that being said my first thought was "let's drop them off with their grandparents, aunt & uncle and cousins - and run!" The only problem was I had to check with the family to see if they would like some little guests for Easter. Luckily, they agreed to take care of the children for me! Thank you, thank you to all of them!!

Now I get to start on the washing and packing of all our things. I spent most of the afternoon washing tons and tons of laundry. I was really far behind. I am having to go through summer stuff to see what still fits them and me! One good thing about doing this is that I have created a pretty big stack of things to take to Goodwill. It has motivated me to start cleaning out some closets.

I am so excited! Remember - my chidren are almost 7 years old I have never been away from them for more than one night for a sleep over!! I am LONG overdue for this trip!

Do any of you have any plans for the Easter weekend or Spring Break?

Just Daddy, Just Mommy

Last night Carleigh and Daddy enjoyed a night out together at the Father-Daughter Dance. They had a really good time together!

Carleigh wanted curls for the evening!
You know how it is - we always want what we don't have! If we have straight hair, we want curly hair. If we have brown eyes, we want blue eyes.
All Ready to Go!
We really had a fun time choosing Carleigh's dress.
There was only one requirement . . . it had to TWIRL!

Daddy & his beautiful little girl!
Whoa, don't they just grow up way too fast!

Daddy and Carleigh had a really fun evening! I sent her PJ's for her to change into, hoping she would drift off to sleep in the car on the way home and Daddy could just carry her to bed. Unfortunately, that did not work out in my favor! She was WIDE awake when she got home (around 10:30 pm) and was so excited to tell me all about the dance - you know, girl stuff, like who was there and what everyone was wearing, ha! I am so glad they had a good time together!

And, of course, the school did not leave out the boys! Today we went to the Mother-Son Bowling Party! We had a great time and it is always fun to spend some one-on-one time with the kids! They played all kinds of 80's music - I felt like I was in high school again! Actually, I think the last time I heard some of the songs was when I was in high school - Purple Rain, Thriller, etc.

Me & My Little Bowler
Christian bowls as good as me - I scored 104 and he scored a 96 on our first game!

They turned off the lights and had the disco lights going - we had a wild & crazy time!

"Come on - I really want a SPARE!"

Our time spent together was great! We had pizza and all kinds of fruits & vegetables with dip. We had lots of fun with some of Christian's classmates and met some new friends as well! Christian and I actually got a double dose of spending one-on-one time together! While Carleigh and Daddy were at the dance on Friday, we watched a movie together! We rented "Horton Hears a Who" and we both loved it! If you have not seen it, then you really need to rent it - it is so cute!

I hope everyone has a great evening and a spectacular Sunday! Oh, the weekend is almost over! I feel like it just got started!

Crazy Momma = Crazy Wife

"Hello, my name is Stacy and I am crazy." TERRIBLE does not describe the morning that I had with my children! It was beyond TERRIBLE! My morning begins at 5:30 am - I get up, get my shower and get fully dressed before the children wake up (well, that is the plan - doesn't always happen). At 6:30 am I wake the kids and we leave the house by 7:20 am. Christian and Carleigh are very different in absolutely EVERYTHING! Christian is extremely slooooooow and Carleigh is extremely picky. Without boring you with all the details - we just had a bad morning - I could not get Christian moving fast enough and I could not please Carleigh with her breakfast. After several meltdowns by me we pulled out of the driveway at 7:37 am - 17 minutes late!

Of course, you can probably imagine who I take all of this craziness out on! That would be my husband! Poor thing he came over to the car window to kiss me "goodbye" and I think I just screamed at him saying something like, "Oh, what do you want? Do I look like I want to kiss someone right now?" Oh my goodness, how completely HORRIBLE is that?? Surprisingly, he still kissed me goodbye and we were on our way to school.

On my way home after dropping off the kids I just cried. I felt so bad because we had such a bad morning together. Later on I talked to Sheariahzard and she made me feel a little better because she admitted she is crazy too! LOL! Oh, being a female is tough! We have so many hormones, emotions, stresses, "to do" lists, etc. I am hoping tomorrow will go smoother! I am off to bed so I can prepare my body and mind for the day ahead!

Happy Thursday to everyone! The weekend is almost here!

My New Blogging Friend

Please join me in welcoming my wonderful friend, Sheariahzard, to the blog world! I have known Sheariahzard (a.k.a. Shear) for probably 25 years now - oh, that makes us sound really old!! She is a wonderful person and a great friend to have. Sheariahzard and I went to middle school, high school and college together. We have children that are about the same age and they have been playing together for a few years now. I hope one day my children will be able to say that they have been friends with her children for 25 years! Wouldn't that be fun? Sheariahzard is a fun, crafty person so I know that you will enjoy reading her blog! If you have a minute hop on over to her blog and say "Hello" - she would love to hear from you!
